AuctionAds Here I Come
With the recent success by Zac Johnson with AuctionAds, it’s prompted me to start trying them out on a few sites of mine. Now is also the perfect time to signup because ReviewMe is offering a $5 bonus for signing up for AuctionAds through their link. If you are an existing ReviewMe customer, you should have received an email.
For those of you not familiar with AuctionAds, it’s a company co-founded by ShoeMoney and it works with eBay. Basically they are adsense styled ads that link to eBay auctions instead of websites. If the person clicking your AuctionAds either signs up for eBay or places a bid on any item on eBay you get a percentage of the money.
When thinking about it, AuctionAds actually makes sense for a number of my sites and I’m hoping that they will work out well for me. I’m going to let them run until the end of the month and see how I do. Adsense hasn’t been performing at all on the sites so it was time for a switch anyways. Only time will tell how the AuctionAds will perform, but I’m optimistic about it.

Good luck, Erik! I like the concept, but they haven’t been performing great for me on my blog yet. I think like any ad/affiliate service, it’s mostly due to my placement. I have them between the blog post and the comments, so when people click the comment link, they shoot down below the ad and don’t see it. I’ll have to either shift the ad down or just put it in a new spot altogether.
I’m interested in hearing if you find success with them in your next earnings update.

Also, I think the affiliate program has potential. The only problem is that there’s not a way to view affiliate earnings in the report right now, which is the email response I got from support. I have 5 people who signed up with my affiliate code, so I’m interested in finding out how they’re doing.

Yeah Matt, I think the amount of reporting offered by AuctionAds is pretty minuscule and doesn’t really show everything it could. I also don’t see AA ads performing very well on a webmaster/make money online type of blog, but on a product related website I’m hoping it will fare better.
I plan to try it out for the rest of the month and see how it goes. Check back at the end of june for my results.
