Never Lose the Desire to Learn
There are several things that make me want to be an internet entrepreneur; the most obvious one being the ability to make money online on my own time. But ask most people and they would probably say that sounds like a pretty good thing. What’s stopping them from hoping on the bandwagon and trying to make money online?
Well first of all, not everyone has the skill set for it. I’ve found that being able to create a lot of my sites myself using custom PHP scripts I write myself is a great benefit. But beyond that I’ve found that I have a true desire to learn. I’m always reading up on what others are doing and I’m always trying new things with my websites. It’s this desire to learn that can separate you from being just another person trying to make money online.
With the thousands of blogs and books out there about being an internet entrepreneur there will always be new information to read and learn about. It’s the ability to read, learn and then experiment with your new knowledge that makes you more adept at making money online.
Which brings me to my main point, that is never stop learning and never stop reading. There will always be something new to read. Never be content with what you know and what you are earning. Starting off in the internet entrepreneur ring there is a wealth of knowledge floating around and I for one feel like I’m just scratching the surface, hopefully you do to. Hold onto this feeling, never lose the desire to learn and you’ll continue to improve not only your ability to make money, but your mind. It’s a win win situation.

This comment is kind of on the topic of learning, but a bit technical.
I’m just curious what kind of frameworks you use when you program in PHP. I’ve been using CakePHP, as it simplifies the whole coding process and utilizes the MVC architecture. I’m always looking for alternatives though, as it’s interesting to learn about what’s out there. Do you have a standard framework you use, or do you alternate between projects? -

You know, I’m a self-taught PHP guy and I never really got into frameworks. For most projects I find myself creating the apps from the ground up.
Although the concept of a framework does sound appealing I have yet to play with any of them.
Do you do all of your website programming as well?

Yeah, I code everything myself. I used to code from scratch, but after trying a few frameworks, I realized how much opportunity for improving speed, readability, and overall supportability I was truly missing out on. I’d recommend CakePHP just out of what I’ve tried, but there are plenty of frameworks I haven’t tried. Here’s an old post on my blog I created in case you’re interested in learning about some of the more popular PHP frameworks. Hope you don’t mind me posting the link here.

Not at all, as long as it’s related content. I’m thinking of using CakePHP for my next project.
Thanks for sharing Matt.
